Learn About the Program

The B.S. in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication (EMAC) is one of the first undergraduate programs of its kind in the United States, and it is offered jointly by the Department of Language, Literature, and Communication (LL&C) and the Department of Arts at Rensselaer.

The EMAC program integrates creative and critical thought with expertise in advanced electronic multimedia. The interdisciplinary approach of arts and communication produces entrepreneurs and critical thinkers who will use technology in innovative ways in commercial, academic, and artistic spheres. The curriculum provides theoretical frameworks for understanding and shaping the impact of these technologies on today's society, as well as the professional skills to work with a wide range of electronic media.
