McKinney Contest

The McKinney Contest is Rensselaer's writing competition for undergraduate and graduate students. All enrolled students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities that competition affords. You may win one or more of the prizes in a range of different categories. Prizes may be as high as $300 for first prize, $175 for second prize, and $75 for third prize but may vary according to quality, at the discretion of the judges. If you win a prize, you can put the prize on your resume, which has been known to increase employment prospects. You will also enjoy the experience of receiving your prize from a well-known writer/speaker at the awards ceremony in April. You have the opportunity to be considered for publication in the university's literary magazine, Statler & Waldorf. Even if you do not win a prize, you will gain practice in writing that will help you to develop a valued capability in the professions. Start now by looking at the information about submission.
